hi, friend
i see your shoes. the big toe hole and the tread that’s worn like your soul & I just want to give you a hug, hand you a mug of hot dancing steam tea and say “me too.”
because those two shoes of yours have seen so much–funerals and heartaches, bullies and the war between your two ears, bruises and nightmares, heart vomits, and that one single sock orphaned lonely ache eating you up inside.
i know because my shoes were no different. i too found the bottom of the cereal bowl. thankfully the end of the tunnel can also be the sunrise. so let us be brave! fear is fake & the invisible hope is more real than the steering wheel you grip each drive. so let’s take hands & dance in rain together!
after all, that is the message: together. hand in hand, you are not alone. the Father who made you is here. & if He’s loving, nothing scary can stay. all the tears you rivered are seen, all the depression made currency to help the next worn traveller. so listen: smile. laugh! jump out that coffin & joy!
the Turtle Carver delights in you. the Wind Waltzer laughs with you. Waterfall Himself washes you!
let Him love you, today. everything changes when He knows your name.
together–the friendship to sail away from everything, everyone else on. forget everything but Him. for He is good.
be encouraged. laugh, cry, snot a little. it’s gonna be okay. He’s here. you are, too–
together.
